On to the brass tacks:
Checkout process: we’re not fans of the dreaded and ridiculous AirBnB chore lists. You’re on vacation! All we expect is for you to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and close/lock the doors and windows before you leave. No need to strip the beds, heft garbage bags outside, or do laundry. Cleaning fees are passed on directly to our cleaners for their hard work.
Shoes off, please. Pack your flip-flops or slippers to wear in the house, and help us keep it comfy and clean. Mud tracked into the house/onto furniture/ground into linens or rugs in the living areas may result in additional cleaning fees. We also provide paw towels for your dogs. Please use them.
This property is in the mountains, on septic. This means you need to be mindful of what you put in the toilet. YES: #1, #2, and toilet paper. NO: everything else.
We love dogs. Well-behaved dogs are welcome here, with a maximum of 2 per stay. “Well-behaved” means that your dogs won’t destroy things while you’re not with them, they’re potty trained, and follow your commands. We don’t charge extra for dogs.
We provide poop bags for your dogs. Please use them, and then toss them into the outdoor trash can.
We provide furniture blankets/covers for your dogs. Please use them to reduce wear and tear on the leather.
Please keep your dog leashed while outside for their own safety as well as for the safety of others. The yard is not fenced in.
If your dog doesn’t do well with being left alone, please use the provided kennel, or make arrangements to reduce your dog’s distress and prevent damage (take him with you, put him in doggy day-care, or have someone stay with him). We understand that some dogs (like ours) will do much better and be calmer when not kenneled when their humans are gone. If your dog is one of these, great. If not, please plan accordingly. Any dogs under 1 year of age MUST be kenneled if left alone.
We don’t accept cats or animals other than dogs at this property due to allergies (of us, the owners). Sorry!
Occupancy: SNUG is set up to comfortably sleep a max of 2 adults and 2 young(ish) children (13 and under) in pullouts (or 1 teen in the living area, with parents in the bedroom). Beyond that and you’ll all be uncomfortable, and the place will have unnecessary wear + tear. Unauthorized guests may result in an immediate cancellation without refund.
Community use products: we hope you enjoy the bath and cleaning products we’ve chosen - they’re wonderful! If you love them so much you decide to take one home, please note that removing bottles of lotions, hand soaps, cleaning supplies, etc. will result in a $50 charge per item, which includes a convenience fee.
Minimum age to book is 25 + ID may be required.
We perform guest screenings before proceeding with booking.
Check in is 3:00 pm if you’ve booked directly. For all others, check-in is 4 pm.
Check-out is 11:30 am if you’ve booked directly. For all others, check-out is 11 am.
Please be mindful that people may be staying on the other side of the house. That said, people are here to have a nice time, and you may hear raucous laughter and conversation from people other than yourselves during your stay.
Absolutely no smoking of any substance (including pot - yes, we know that’s not very 70s of us) inside or outside. Violation of this rule will mean an additional $500 cleaning charge.
No parties, please try to keep noise to a minimum.
No UTVs, ATVs, trailers, or campers
Hunting/discharging firearms is strictly prohibited at this property.
CANCELLATION POLICY (direct booking - may vary if booked on Airbnb, etc.):
100% refund, including cleaning fee, if you cancel within 24 hours of booking your stay, if you’ve booked 7+ days in advance).
100% + cleaning fee refund if you cancel at least 30 days before your check-in
80% + cleaning fee refund if you cancel 29 days before your check-in.
50% + cleaning fee refund if you cancel at least 14 days before your check-in
A refund of the cleaning fee if you cancel less than 14 days prior to check-in.
DAMAGE WAIVERS:
A damage waiver must be paid. This is a small, non-refundable fee in place of a larger security deposit, and the amount varies according to length of stay.
What is a damage waiver? A damage waiver is a smaller, non-refundable fee charged en lieu of a large security deposit. It’s similar to what you may have paid when renting a car.
What does the damage waiver cover? This covers any minor accidental damage done by yourself (but not your dog) during your stay, up to $500.
What DOESN’T the damage waiver cover? Intentional damage, theft or removal of items, damage to your own personal items, damage caused by not adhering to house rules (above), damage done by your dog.
Why do I have to report the damage? So that we can be proactive in repairing or replacing as soon as possible. We want to keep our property in tip-top shape both for ourselves and for guests.
Why do you charge a damage waiver? We find it to be easier both for ourselves and for our guests. No holding large sums as a deposit; no back-and-forth about the replacement cost; ability to replace something quickly and easily.
OTHER STUFF:
